'Dahmer' Lead Ready To Fight Zombies
Renner leads gory sequel
Boyle is producing "28 Weeks Later" along with Andrew MacDonald and Alex Garland, while Juan Carlos Fresnadillo ("Intacto") is directing from a script by Rowan Joffe.
As the title indicates, "28 Weeks Later" picks up six months after the events for the first film. In the aftermath of the freaky zombie virus that threatened to kill off England's population, a Special Forces team is attempting to restore order in London. Naturally the virus returns and people start eating each other again.
According to Variety, Renner will play a Sgt. Doyle. No additional information is available.
Renner played the title killer in 2002's "Dahmer." He's received a bit more mainstream attention for his work in "S.W.A.T." and 2005's "North Country" and "Lords of Dogtown." He'll next be seen in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford."
