'O.C.' Party Girl Stalks 'Friday the 13th' Role
Amanda Righetti could join Jared Padalecki in remake
According to Variety, Righetti is in final negotiations to play the female lead in the slasher update, which comes from Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes shingle and will be directed by Marcus Nispel.
Specifics about the plot of the new "Friday the 13th" are both vague and largely irrelevant. Attractive folks return to Camp Crystal Lake. Hockey mask-wearing Jason Vorhees (Derek Mears) butchers most of them. Screaming ensues.
Production on "Friday the 13th" will begin on April 21 in Texas.
Righetti is certainly keeping busy. Earlier this week she was cast in the CBS drama pilot "The Mentalist," adding to a TV resume that includes bad girl Hailey on "The O.C.," bad girl Tessa on "North Shore" and quickly cancelled girl Jenna on "Reunion."
No stranger to remakes and sequels, Righetti starred in "Return to House on Haunted Hill."
