'Nancy Drew' Star Goes to the 'Dogs'
Emma Roberts and a bunch of dogs will star
Set up at DreamWorks, the project is based on the novel by Lois Duncan and will be directed by Thor Freudenthal from a script by Jeff Lowell.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story focuses on two orphaned teens (Roberts and, we assume, somebody else) who protect oodles of stray dogs in an abandoned hotel.
Daughter of Eric Roberts and niece of Julia, Emma Roberts is best known for her TV work on "Unfabulous" and her lead role in this summer's "Nancy Drew."
Hopes were so high for "Nancy Drew" that the industry trades announced plans for a sequel weeks before its release. It's unclear how the film's underwhelming $25 million domestic gross will impact that project.
