'The Strangers' Sequel Is Coming
Original writer-director Bryan Bertino will at least write the sequel to his summer hit.
According to Variety, the studio has tapped original writer-director Bryan Bertino to write the sequel, but his participation as director is still open.
"The Strangers," a modest $9 million production earned solid reviews and a $54 million domestic take when it opened later this summer. The film starred Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman as a young couple terrorized by an unknown group of, well, strangers.
The trade paper says Tyler and several of the original villains will probably return for the sequel, which would begin production in early 2009.
Bertino is attached to write and direct a pair of Rogue thrillers, "Black" and "Alone."
