Bye-bye Serious Sandler. Silly Sandler's back!

After solid reviews, but minimal box office for "Reign Over Me," Adam Sandler is returning to the family comedy game for "Bedtime Stories."

Set up at Disney, the film will be directed by Adam Shankman ("Hairspray") and is already being positioned as the studio's big movie for the 2008 holiday season.

Sandler and Happy Madison partner Jack Giarraputo will also produce.

Written by Matt Lopez, the film focuses on a harried businessman whose life is out of control until he finds a magic remote control. Oh. Wait. Wrong movie. No, the trade papers say that this harried businessman's life is out of control until the bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew begin to come true.

This will be Sandler's first film for Disney since 1998's Touchstone-released smash "The Waterboy."

Production on "Bedtime Stories" will begin later this year, though it's presumably second on Sandler's upcoming slate after the high concept comedy "You Don't Mess with the Zohan."

Sandler will next be seen in the gay marriage comedy "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" with Kevin James and Jessica Biel.
