Judd Apatow, Jason Segel Extend 'Engagement'
Segel will co-write Universal comedy with director Nick Stoller
Uber-Producer Judd Apatow is extending his relationship with frequent star Jason Segel on the Universal comedy "Five-Year Engagement."The project will reunite producers Apatow and Shauna Robertson with the team behind the upcoming comedy "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." Once again, Segel will star and co-write the script with Nick Stoller, who will also direct.
According to Variety, the plot of "Five-Year Engagement" verges on self-explanatory. Segel would play a man whose engagement plays out over five up-and-down years.
Segel, one of the stars of CBS' soon-to-return comedy "How I Met Your Mother," recently signed on to co-star with Paul Rudd in the DreamWorks comedy "I Love You, Man." His collaborations with Apatow stretch back to "Freaks & Geeks" and "Undeclared." He also had a co-starring role in last summer's hit "Knocked Up."
