Judd Apatow, Jason Segel Extend 'Engagement'
Segel will co-write Universal comedy with director Nick Stoller
The project will reunite producers Apatow and Shauna Robertson with the team behind the upcoming comedy "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." Once again, Segel will star and co-write the script with Nick Stoller, who will also direct.
According to Variety, the plot of "Five-Year Engagement" verges on self-explanatory. Segel would play a man whose engagement plays out over five up-and-down years.
Segel, one of the stars of CBS' soon-to-return comedy "How I Met Your Mother," recently signed on to co-star with Paul Rudd in the DreamWorks comedy "I Love You, Man." His collaborations with Apatow stretch back to "Freaks & Geeks" and "Undeclared." He also had a co-starring role in last summer's hit "Knocked Up."
