Simon Beaufoy will pen Dreamworks Animation's next

Simon Beaufoy is getting out of the slums and into the driver's seat.

Beaufoy, who wrote 2008's Oscar darling "Slumdog Millionaire," has signed on to script Dreamworks Animation's "Truckers," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Aside from the obvious images conjured by the name, no plot details have been released.

Don't, though, look for Beaufoy's name on the sequel to this year's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." Despite Internet rumors, Beaufoy denies being involved in the Marvel superhero project.

"Truckers" will be Dreamworks Animation's follow-up to this year's "Monsters vs. Aliens."
