Will Smith Entombed in 'Pharaoh' Pic
Randall Wallace set to write 'The Last Pharaoh'
According to Variety, "Braveheart" scribe is writing the drama "The Last Pharaoh" for Columbia as a possible starring vehicle for Smith.
"The Last Pharaoh" would be based on the life of Taharqa, an Egyptian ruler who helped his people battle Assyrian invaders. The trade paper says Smith, who "has long wanted to play the pharaoh," brought the project to Wallace.
Smith will produce through his Overbrook Entertainment shingle along with James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz.
Overbrook's next production, without Smith as star, is the upcoming "Lakeview Terrace." Overbrook is also behind the "Hancock" star's next acting vehicle, this winter's "Seven Pounds."
Wallace is next expected to direct a Secretariat biopic for Disney.
