Sony Does 'Whatever Works'
Sony Classics has purchased the rights to Allen's next film, "Whatever Works," according to Variety. In a plot close to Allen's own life, "Whatever Works" follows an older man (Larry David) and his romantic foibles, including a dalliance with a younger woman ("The Wrestler's" Evan Rachel Wood). The film marks a return to Allen's beloved Manhattan, after the director's recent sojourn to Europe.
Allen scored big with his 2008 film "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," including an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe win for best picture (comedy or musical).
"Whatever Works" is scheduled to hit theaters this summer.
