Nicholas Sparks is writing for 'Hannah Montana' star
According to Variety, Sparks is working on a new novel and its screenplay adaptation simultaneous, tailoring both for Cyrus. Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot will produce through their Offspring Entertainment shingle.
Nobody's saying what the Sparks/Cyrus project is about, though it's expected that Cyrus will only act in the film. It's expected that it will be at least somewhat in the vein of Sparks' "A Walk to Remember," which helped transition Mandy Moore from her pop star roots into acting.
The trade paper says the book won't be published until the fall of 2009, while it's unclear when the movie would be ready for production.
Already a solo music sensation and TV star, Cyrus has a major box office success with "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour," which took in $65 million earlier this spring. Cyrus has "Hannah Montana The Movie" set for release next summer.
