Stephen Gaghan tapped to adapt Jon Stock novel

"Traffic" writer Stephen Gaghan will catch up with "Dead Spy Running."

Gaghan will adapt "Running," a soon-to-be-released espionage novel from Daily Telegraph writer Jon Stock, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The novel, set to drop June 25, begins with former MI6 agent Daniel Marchant trying to deal with a bomb-strapped runner at the London Marathon. That leads to a globe-trotting adventure during which Marchant must deal with his own father's possible treachery. Sounds twisty!

"Terminator: Salvation" director McG will be behind the camera for at least the first film in the planned trilogy. No other talent has yet been attached.
