Steve Martin Ties the Knot
Comedian surprised party guests with a wedding
The "Pink Panther" actor and his girlfriend Anne Stringfield got married in his Los Angeles home on Saturday, July 28, reports People.
The approximately 75 wedding guests thought they were there for a party, but were surprised to learn that the mere party had been upgraded to a wedding. Among the guests were fellow "wild and crazy guy" Tom Hanks, Martin's "Father of the Bride" co-star Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy and Carl Reiner, among others.
"Saturday Night Live" creator Lorne Michaels and frequent employer for Martin who holds the record for most times hosting the sketch comedy show, provided best man duties.
To offset the bride's classic Vera Wang gown, Martin sported his Inspector Clouseau mustache.
Martin, 61, and Stringfield, 35, have been together for about three years. The actor was previously married to actress Victoria Tennant. This is the first marriage for Stringfield, who is a writer and former staffer at The New Yorker.
Martin's recent big-screen credits include "Bringing Down the House," the "Cheaper by the Dozen" films, "Shopgirl," "The Pink Panther" and its upcoming sequel that he will begin shooting in August.
