Project will pay tribute to genre classics

Quentin Tarantino will shepherd "Hell Ride," a new biker film from genre legend Larry Bishop.

According to Variety, Tarantino will take a presenting credit on the Dimension Films project, which Bishop wrote and directed and will produce along with Michael Steinberg and Shana Stein.

Bishop, whose acting credits include "Wild in the Streets" and "Chrome and Hot Leather," will also star as the leader of a biker gang who has to rally his associates to avenge the death of a friend.

Tarantino, not surprisingly a fan of Bishop's work, reportedly inspired the son of Rat Packer Joey Bishop to write the film and helped secure the connections with Dimension.

Currently putting the finishing touches on "Death Proof," his part of the "Grindhouse" double-bill, Tarantino's recent production credits include "Daltry Calhoun" and "Hostel."
