'Step Up' Stud Goes Undercover
Tatum goes from dancing to parkour
According to Variety, the studio is fast-tracking a pitch by T.J. Scott and Kevin Lund about a New York city cop who infiltrates the world of free running -- parkour to those in the know -- to try to stop a gang of thieves using the acrobatic skill for evil rather than good.
Stop! You had us at "parkour."
This "Point Break" for the new millennium will be produced by Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, who previously brought New Line "The Nativity Story."
Tatum, whose 2006 included "She's the Man," "Step Up" and a respected performance in "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints," has Kimberly Peirce's "Stop-Loss" and the ensemble "Battle in Seattle" on tap.
