Tim Allen Lands 'Six Wives'
Elisha Cuthbert plays his daughter
The former "Home Improvement" actor has signed on to star in the family comedy-drama "The Six Wives of Henry Lefay," report the trade papers. "24" star Elisha Cuthbert joins him playing his daughter.
The film revolves around what happens when a salesman (Allen) goes missing during a skydiving expedition and is presumed dead. When his daughter (Cuthbert) tries to arrange his funeral, she finds the widow and five ex-wives -- ranging in age from 25 to 55 -- fighting over his will and who gets to bury him.
So far, four of the six spouse roles have been filled by Andie MacDowell, Kelli Garner, Paz Vega and S. Epatha Merkerson.
Howard Gould, who worked with Allen on "Home Improvement," will make his feature directing debut on the film from his own script. Production is scheduled to begin in September in Connecticut.
Allen recently wrapped David Mamet's ultimate fighting drama "Redbelt," while Cuthbert last appeared in "Captivity."
