Ashley Tisdale movie to go straight to DVD

Ashley Tisdale will star in "Picture This," a fact that's sure to be meaningful to the tweener fans of "High School Musical."

"Picture This" is set up at MGM's DVD Premiere unit. Stephen Herek, who may be wondering what's happened to his career since the glory years of "Critters" and "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure," will direct from a script by Temple Matthews.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tisdale will play a high school girl invited to a party thrown by the school's most popular boy. The catch? She's grounded. OMG!!!!!

Production begins this week in Montreal.

To zillions of young viewers, Tisdale is best known as the fabulous Sharpay from the "High School Musical" movies. Her other credits include "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," place appearances on shows including "Still Standing" and "The Hughleys."
