'The B Team' Recruits Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg
Sony picks up cop comedy before script is finished
Will Ferrell, say hello to your mother for Mark Wahlberg.Ferrell and Wahlberg will team up for "The B Team," according to Variety. Sony picked up the script on spec, so we don't know much about the plot other than that "Step Brothers" (also starring Ferrell) writer Adam McKay will direct. The pairing is odd; while Ferrell is a veteran of the comedy scene, the closest Wahlberg has come is a role in 2004's "I Heart Huckabees." (No, "Max Payne" doesn't count as comedy.)
Ferrell, 41, can be seen this June in "Land of the Lost." Wahlberg, 37, will star in "The Lovely Bones" and has been parodied on "Saturday Night Live."
