Post-Oscar and pre-Bennifer, Affleck voluntarily checked into Malibu rehab facility Promises in August 2001 for alcohol abuse. When Affleck realized he needed help, it was none other than one-time alcoholic and drug addict Charlie Sheen who helped him check into the facility. Once in rehab, his radio spots touting Samuel Adams beer were respectfully pulled off the airwaves.
