Our Favorite Things from Eight Seasons of 'Scrubs': Scrubs had a better pilot than a lot of shows, and the first couple of episodes afterward stayed true to its spirit. But with the fourth episode, My Old Lady, that really put the hook in. The episode, which guest-starred Kathryn Joosten and featured JD ( Zach Braff), Turk (Donald Faison) and Elliot (Sarah Chalke) dealing with the death of patients for the first time, remains one of the shows most effective mixes of comedy and drama and set a template for what was to come.
