Hits and Misses: TV's movie reboots
(Paramount)
2 of 14
'Ferris Bueller' (NBC, 1990)
Based on the film: "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (1986)
Premise: Unlike the film, the series revolved around Ferris (Charlie Schattler) attending -- not ditching -- high school and feuding with his sister Jeannie ( Jennifer Aniston). But was the spinoff too cheeky? During the first episode, Ferris addresses viewers and says that he didn't like the film "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," nor did he care for Matthew Broderick's portrayal of him. (He takes a chainsaw to a cardboard cutout of Broderick.)
Lasted: 13 episodes
Verdict: Miss
