Emmy Snubs & Surprises

Surprise or snub?: Snub. It's not a huge shock that "Grey's Anatomy" was left off the Outstanding Drama Series list, as this is the second year it hasn't made the cut. However, Katherine Heigl's absence from the Outstanding Supporting Actress category is slightly more surprising. Heigl won the award two years back and had a lot of Emmy buzz this season, because of her character's cancer storyline. But the actress' outspoken nature may be the reason the Academy didn't recognize her this time around, since last year she took herself out of contention, saying publicly that the "Grey's"' writers didn't give her material good enough to win.
