Mother and daughter(s): Nora ( Sally Field), Kitty (Calista Flockhart) and Sarah (Rachel Griffiths)

Relationship dynamic: As a conservative media personality and senator's wife, Kitty is always at odds with her much more liberal-leaning mother Nora. Meanwhile, Sarah, whose life has now imploded after following in her mother's footsteps for years, is going through middle-aged growing pains trying to assert her own personality and claim her own life.
