No. 1 Lady Detectives: Our favorite female crime-solvers

HBO debuts its new series "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" on Sunday, introducing the character of Precious Ramotswe to the TV-watching world.

Based on the best-selling novels, "No. 1" follows Mma Ramotswe (Jill Scott), who runs the only female-headed detective agency in Botswana. Her initial cases aren't for the highest of stakes, but she puts her keen observational powers to good work in helping her clients. She's such a charming character, in fact, that we think she might be able to join this pantheon of our favorite female gumshoes.
