Maulik Pancholy, 'Weeds' and '30 Rock'
Maulik Pancholy
"Weeds," Showtime or "30 Rock," NBC
You know him as: Nancy Botwin's freshly outed drug pusher Sanjay and Jack Donaghy's hard-working assistant Jonathan
Why we like him: There are only so many ways to play dedicated deference, but Pancholy keeps finding new ways to make his characters marvelously and distinctively sycophantic. Sanjay got an added boost of character dimension from his decision to come out of the closet on "Weeds" this season and it may be time for Jonathan to get his own added wrinkles at some point. If Pancholy can generate laughs with so little, think of what he could do with something meatier.
Where else you've seen him: He's done the usual guest appearances on shows including "The Comeback," "Jack & Jill" and "The Sopranos," while he's also popped up in the features "Hitch" and the upcoming "27 Dresses."
