Why we like her: Although she won an MTV Movie Award for Best Frightened Performance for "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," Carpenter had to show new dimensions of fear in "Dexter," where her character found herself in love with a serial killer. We can only imagine what she'll do when she finds out that brother Dexter also likes to chop people to bits. That's something to look forward to next year.

Where else you've seen her: Before "Emily Rose," you may remember seeing her in "White Chicks" or "D.E.B.S," but why would you want to admit to that?
