Remakes of foreign TV shows: Hits and misses ... and misses

Remakes of foreign TV shows: Hits and misses ... and misses: MTV says its developing an American version of the British teen series Skins. One of the shows creators will be involved in the new show, which can be a good sign for shows that are imported from other countries.

TV history is littered with a few remake gems (All in the Family is the gold standard, and The Office and Ugly Betty are two recent successes) but a lot more failures (remember UPNs As If? Didnt think so). Take a look at some of the best and worst remakes of foreign shows in recent years.
