'Skins'
MTV says it's developing an American version of the British teen series "Skins." One of the show's creators will be involved in the new show, which can be a good sign for shows that are imported from other countries.
If MTV manages to do "Skins" justice, it will be an exception rather than the rule. TV history is littered with a few remake gems ("All in the Family" is the gold standard, and "The Office" and "Ugly Betty" are two recent successes) but a lot more failures (remember UPN's "As If"? Didn't think so). Take a look at some of the best and worst remakes of foreign shows in recent years.
