Zap2it's 2007 Guilty Pleasures: My Super Sweet 16

I didnt have a gala bash for my bar mitzvah. Instead of booking hot venue, hiring a hip band and being carried around on a chair, I just had a classy gathering for out-of-town family and a few friends. Im not feeling sorry for myself. Im only trying to explain why I so frequently find myself sucked into late-afternoon marathons of My Super Sweet 16 on MTV. It isnt the excess or the ego that I love so much as my certainty that none of the bratty, spoiled kids who have been showcased on the series feels the least bit embarrassed or self-conscious about the way theyve been depicted on TV. That sort of conspicuous consumption is why people in other countries hate us, yall.
