Political (Acting) Background
He portrayed White House Chief of Staff Jim Gardner on Commander In Chief. Gardner was later offered the Vice Presidency under Independent President Mackenzie Allen (Geena Davis). Lennix also appeared on 24 last season as Walid Al-Rezani, regional director of the Islamic-American Alliance, an advocacy group for Muslims living in the United States, and starred as Congressman Adam Clayton Powell Jr. in the Showtime movie Keep the Faith, Baby.

Why We'd Cast Him
Lennix looks and sounds just like the real thing -- he's even a Chicago native. Of all of our casting decisions, this was probably the easiest. Lennix's agent should have his fingers crossed that Obama goes far.
