From 1966 to 1968, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork and Davy Jones acted as the members of The Monkees on the self-titled TV show. Eventually they began to persom life, too, and released several albums. Their success and popularity outlived the TV show, and they experienced a revival in popularity in the 1980s. They have released 11 albums since 1966, three of which were number one and one of which was number three.
