Sarah Palin visits Oprah (2009)
During the heated 2008 presidential campaign, conservatives were incensed that Oprah, an admitted supporter of Barack Obama, failed to have Sarah Palin, the GOP vice presidential candidate, on her show. After the election, Winfrey invited Palin to her couch, but the former Alaksa governor chose to go on other programs first. Finally, upon the publication of her memoir "Going Rogue" in 2009, Palin and Winfrey had their big meeting. Pundits craved a battle royale. What they got was yet another pleasant Oprah-style gab-fest that left both participants pleased and the bloodthirsty political crowd wanting. Here, Winfrey poses with Palin and her daughters Willow, right, and Piper, left.
