It's easy to pick on Gerard Butler. With almost all of his movie choices, he's brought it on himself. Yet no one should mention "Chasing Mavericks" and garbage like "Playing For Keeps" in the same sentence unless they're mentioning how much better "Mavericks" told its story, accentuated by some incredible surfing footage.
