2011 Notable Deaths

World Series hero Jose Pagan died June 7, 2011. A two-run double in Game Seven of the 1971 series led his Pittsburgh Pirates to an eventual win over the Baltimore Orioles. Pagan spent 15 seasons in the big leagues with Pittsburgh and the Philadelphia Phillies. He was 76.
