2011 Notable Deaths

Former "Tonight Show" band member Snooky Young died May 11, of complications from a lung disorder. He came to prominence in the early 1940s as the lead trumpeter and soloist in Jimmie Lunceford's big band and would also play with Count Basie before his long TV stint. Young was 92.
