Pictures: 2010 in Entertainment

"Avatar" became the biggest blockbuster of all time in 2010 (even though it was released in 2009), and movie studios decided that the spectacular 3-D effects were the reason for its success. This led to a glut of 3-D flicks, from "Tron: Legacy" and "Alice in Wonderland" to "Piranha 3-D" and "Step Up 3-D." The newest Harry Potter release resisted the trend, but it may be the last holdout for a long time.
