Unlike shows like "Top Chef" or to a lesser extent "Hell's Kitchen," this reality cooking competition show pits everyday Schmoes just like us against each other in the kitchen. They usually have other day jobs, but culinary creations are their passion. We totally identify.
And we fully admit that sometimes we're rooting for them, but other times we watch just for that sense of superiority. How can so-and-so NOT know what a starfruit is? Sheesh!
Also, during this debut season in America, we couldn't wait to see which earrings Whitney would wear next or if judge Joe Bastianich would crack a smile.
