The agony of defeat
Jordyn Wieber, largely considered the women's all-around gold medal favorite, was knocked out of the all-around competition because her two teammates, Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman, finished ahead of her in the overall standings. It's because of a rule that says a country may only have two gymnasts qualify for the finals. This, despite Jordyn finishing fourth overall after the qualifying day. A heartbreaking loss for her indeed.
