'American Horror Story's' movie homages from 'The Strangers' to Hannibal Lecter

Not a movie homage, but the storyline from 1968 was more than a little similar to the 1966 Richard Speck killing spree, where Speck broke into a women's boarding house and systematically raped and killed eight student nurses.
