"JAG" was starting to age by the end of the 2002-03 season, but by introducing a show about a team of investigators who work for the Navy, CBS was able to keep its military-drama franchise going -- and then some. "NCIS" increased the size of its audience in all but one of its first seven seasons, a rare feat for any series.
