For most of us, a college degree is the gateway to a good career and a productive life in the adult world. That's not the case for Mark Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg, the co-founder of Facebook and the primary subject of "The Social Network" (Jesse Eisenberg plays him in the film), dropped out of Harvard after Facebook started to take off. Things worked out pretty well for him: He's now the world's youngest billionaire. He's also got some company -- quite a few celebrities, as well as some of the most important people in the computer age, dropped out of college as well.
The following list is by no means comprehensive (we didn't even get into the dozens and dozens of successful athletes who left school early), but it's a good sampling of people for whom not staying in school worked out pretty well.
