The powers: Lots of gadgetry, deadpan delivery and the ability to run around with an underage boy in tights without anyone calling child protective services.

The villains: Candy-colored comic-book bad guys like the Joker, the Riddler, Catwoman, the Penguin, Mr. Freeze, King Tut and all the rest.
The tone: Bam! Pow! Biff! Holy camp-tastic, Batman!
Of note: The show was so popular that it aired twice a week. A nightclub called Wayne Manor in San Francisco gave people a place to dance the Batusi. Stars lined up for cameos on the show. It was awesome.
