'Simple Explanation'
"House"-hold name: Meat Loaf (real name Marvin Lee Aday) as Eddie.
"House"-lights: Eddie is one half of a sick couple. The wife is terminal but the husband is not and she donates her heart to him so that he can live. The patient of the week was a bit overshadowed by Kutner's suicide, however.
Out-"House": Meat Loaf hit the bigtime as a recording artist in the 1970s, but had a bit of a resurgence in the 1990s. He also broke in to acting, most famously in "Fight Club" in 1999.
