As Miss Teen USA New York Ruth Zakarian was the first person to hold the Miss Teen USA title. She went on to act under the name Devon Pierce, most notably on the soap opera "The Young and the Restless."

Fun fact: Zakarian was Miss Teen USA 1988's first runner-up, Jessica Collins, former babysitter.
