It's always great when a show adds a baby to the mix, or the show starts off with a child character. But everyone quickly tires of babies that do nothing, or children who aren't as interesting as they would be if they were teenagers.
Some shows have legitimate reasons for aging a young character, like a time jump or a supernatural hell portal. Others ... just inexplicably age them for the sake of the story (we're looking at you, sitcoms and soap operas). Here are our favorites.
