'Survivor' vs. 'Big Brother': Zap2it's TV Show Smackdown

Hosts

"Big Brother": Oh, the Chen Bot. Julie Chen of CBS' "The Early Show" is the impeccably-dressed host of "Big Brother." We must commend her for how well she keeps a straight face during a lot of the shenanigans in the house and the silly exit interviews, though we do think it's funny that she only interacts with the contestants mainly via the TV monitor.

"Survivor": Jeff Probst earns his money. He actually spends 40+ days at the "Survivor" locations and while the accommodations certainly aren't some hut on the beach, it isn't like he's in the Beverly Hilton either. We also love how he puts the screws to the contestants at Tribal Council, though we could do without his silly play-by-play during challenges. Finally, his contribution to the game has not gone unnoticed by the Emmys -- the category of Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program has been an award for two years and Probst has won both times.

Winner: This one isn't even close. Anyone with a pulse could host "Big Brother" -- no disrespect to Julie Chen. "Survivor" seems to actually require a bit of Jeff Probst and he usually comes through with flying colors. Point -- "Survivor."
