Long before witchcraft = drugs, Xander is hurt over Cordelia not being able to go public with their relationship, so he enlists Amy's help to cast a spell. Which naturally goes wonky, causing every woman in sight to lust after Xander -- including Buffy, Willow, Miss Calender and (ew) Buffy's mom. In the end, Cordelia comes around. Meanwhile, Buffy is a rat for awhile and Angelus gives Drusilla a heart he found in a "quaint little shop girl." We always liked Angelus.
