We loved him because: Like many of the other Mystic fallen, Logan was a pawn in a vampire agenda -- Anna's, to be exact. He was an ex of Jenna's and an old friend of Liz Forbes'. After becoming a vampire, he became the first of many people to kidnap Caroline in order to get revenge on Liz for hiding his body when he first died.

We lost him because: He made the mistake of screwing with a Salvatore. He tortured Damon, trying to learn the Salvatore secret to walking in the sun. As a member of the Founders' Council, he told Damon that he could help him open the vampire tomb -- but Alaric staked him before he could spill the beans. Adios, Scum.
