'The Vampire Diaries' Death Toll: Characters we've loved and lost

We loved him because: Well, he was the first witch we've ever seen who wasn't black, so that was interesting? We also kind of appreciate him locking Tyler and Caroline up so that they could make up. Other than that, Maddox was Klaus's witch, so he was kind of a huge pain.

We lost him because: Matt shot him! (Aww, baby's first kill.) Okay, so technically, Matt didn't totally kill Maddox -- he just took him down, and then Damon helpfully snapped his neck. It's good to be thorough around these parts.
