'The Vampire Diaries' Death Toll: Characters we've loved and lost

We loved her because: A geeky teenage vampire with a crush on Jeremy? What's not to love? Anna scared the crap out of us at first (in a good way!) but we warmed up to her once we realized that she was only murdering and turning people in an attempt to get her mother back.

We lost her because: She was introduced to the wrong end of John Gilbert's stake, sending Jeremy into an alarming (if brief) spiral of depression. Luckily, Anna's back in the mix now that Jeremy sees dead people. Joke's on you, Uncle John, because you're still dead for realsies.
