SAG Awards Express 'Doubt'
Film leads with five nominations; 'Closer,' 'Mad Men' among TV leaders
The film is the leading nominee for the 15th annual SAG Awards, which were announced Thursday (Dec. 18). It picked up five nominations -- individual nods for Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Viola Davis, plus one for its ensemble -- to lead all the nominees in movies and television.
A pair of other potential Oscar contenders, "Milk" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," earned three nominations apiece. On the TV side, "30 Rock," "Boston Legal," "The Closer," "John Adams" and "Mad Men" all earned three nods each.
Several actors earned multiple nominations, either for different roles or individual and ensemble work in one project. The leading individual nominee, though, is a mild surprise: Taraji P. Henson earned a supporting nomination for "Benjamin Button" and is part of the nominated casts for the movie and "Boston Legal."
The SAG Awards will take place Sunday, Jan. 25.
