'Descent' Descends Into a Sequel
Shauna Macdonald and Natalie Mendoza will return for 'The Descent 2'
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Harris, editor on the first "Descent," will direct the sequel, which will be produced by original director Neil Marshall.
The creatively titled "Descent 2" will be shot on a budget of $10 million and will shoot on location in Scotland and at London's Ealing Studios.
Original stars Shauna Macdonald and Natalie Mendoza will somehow reprise their roles in the James Watkins-scripted film.
Also shot on a budget of under $10 million, the first "Descent" made an estimated $57 million worldwide. The drama, which focused on a group of spelunkers who run afoul of the creepy critters in an ancient cave, stands at an impressive 84 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
